Day 8

Couldn't decide which one I wanted to go with so here are two different versions of today's outfit. The first one is just plane fun while I liked the overall look of the second. Will fix the leg problems in the clean up phase.

iPad app

The iPad app that we created at Lucky Kat TV has been released. It's an educational game with a take on hangman called Daren's Donuts. I did all the animation of Daren the Lion in the game. I'll post some pictures to go with it shortly.

Day 2

2 down, 28 to go.

Day 1

Here is the first of my 30 day challenge of drawing and posting what I wore today. The idea is to post that days outfit before midnight that day and that I can not use the same pose twice. Here is yesterdays and todays will be posted a little bit later. The idea came from seeing this done on a couple different blogs that I watch and thought it looked like fun.

Stop Motion

Found a great stop motion video that came from Aardman animation. The whole thing was shot on a Nokia N8 (smart phone). Here's the link to the page that shows the video and a making of video to go along with it.

Rocker Kids

The current line up of my new band. They were originally intended to be purely flash characters, but I'm enjoying them so much that I may animate them the old fashioned way. The blond boy at the end will be seen half the time with his hood on and half of it off. No names for the characters yet. Each character's personality is starting to develop nicely. Left to right: singer is the most aggressive (14 yrs), guitarist is bubbly, overtly happy, easily distracted (12 yrs), bassist is crazy, up for anything and erratic (15 yrs), and last is the drummer who is the shy quiet voice of reason (14 yrs).

p.s. There's been a slight change to the bassist hair color making it a more vibrant orange.

My coworker came up with the idea of turning the rocker kids into a band, and the idea took hold quickly. Here is the rough line up of these characters. Instruments for each from left to right. Guitar, bass, drums, and singer.

Here's some random sketches of them to go with it.

New ID

Couldn't decide what to draw so when in doubt make a self portrait. This will most likely become my new DA ID. There are some mistakes, but it was fun.

This is my new business card minus the phone and email address which I didn't want to post here on the web, but which are on the actual cards themselves.

Shower pin up girl.

Yet 1 more pin up girl. Not based off of some type of food this time. She's based off of a sketch I made while hanging out with friends at the 24 hour comic day last weekend. Next time I'll draw someone with their head facing the other direction.

Candy Pin Up

Here's a quickie post. Another food inspired pin up girl. This time by Christmas candy. Had a blast making her so I think I might make a few more food inspired pin up girls for fun.

Tuesday, August 31, 2010

Just a quick post. The challenge was to take an existing character and swap their gender. Had trouble picking a character so I went with Rick from Casablanca thus the black and white.

throwing these up quick. All are from DAC challenges. Would like to go in and make the grandpa and grandkid nicer eventually though.

Mushroom girl

Same girl, but I couldn't decide which background I liked more. This is a sketch I made this weekend for DAC food challenge and I thought it would be fun to take her to fruition. I know I should try for something more fantastic and out of the box, but the thought of doing the food challenge as a pin up girl sounded like a fun idea when I was sketching her. Oh just in case you didn't know there is an actual mushroom that looks like the flower in her hair. I even tried to copy the color of the image I found of that mushroom. Sketched in pencil, colored in Photoshop CS3.

*edit. Added a top on her so I didn't have to worry about privacy settings for DAC.

NemaFromSpain on DA is having a coloring contest of his ID drawing, so I thought I'd try it in order to work on my photoshop/coloring abilities. I will update with a link to the contest later. Just thought I'd post the flat colors for now, and will post it in process hopefully a couple more times before it's finished. I was amazed at how long it takes to do flat colors.

Here's an update. There's still more work to do, but since it was floating around on my system I thought it would be a good idea to post what I've done so far.
